1. Who we are
Moss Paradox ("we", "us", "our") is an independent editorial website reviewing casual puzzle applications published on Google Play. It is owned and operated by Liam Smith, an individual based in New Zealand, who also acts as privacy officer. Contact for all privacy matters: [email protected].
2. What we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Order request form: your name, email address, the item selected, the game you are playing (optional), your country (optional) and the text of your request.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the topic selected and the text of your message.
- Email correspondence: anything you choose to send us, including screenshots.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard web server logs: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages requested, date and time.
- A single browser storage entry recording that you have seen the cookie notice — see the Cookie Policy. We set no analytics or advertising identifiers.
2.3 What we never collect
No form on this site asks for payment card numbers, bank credentials or any financial login details, and you should never send them to us. We do not collect government identifiers, health data or any other special category of sensitive information. We do not collect anything about your activity inside any game.
3. Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry;
- To confirm and deliver a guide you have ordered;
- To keep basic order records for New Zealand accounting and tax obligations;
- To keep the website secure and technically stable;
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we send no marketing email unless you specifically ask for it.
4. How it is collected
Directly from you when you complete a form or send an email. Technical information is collected automatically by our hosting provider's web server as an ordinary part of serving the site. Providing information is voluntary, but without a name and email address we cannot reply to you or deliver an order.
5. Storage, security and retention
Information submitted through this site travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is stored in our email and order records, protected by unique passwords and two-factor authentication. Access is limited to Liam Smith.
- General enquiries: deleted 24 months after the last message.
- Order records: retained 7 years, as required for New Zealand tax record-keeping.
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information as required by Information Privacy Principle 5. No internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
6. Disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Disclosure occurs only to service providers who host the site, deliver our email or process invoices (strictly as needed and under a duty of confidence); where required or authorised by New Zealand law; where necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to anyone's life, health or safety; or where you have expressly authorised it.
7. Overseas transfer
Some providers operate servers outside New Zealand, including in Australia, the European Union and the United States. Where personal information is transferred overseas we take reasonable steps under Information Privacy Principle 12 to ensure comparable safeguards apply, whether through the law of the receiving jurisdiction or through binding contractual terms.
8. Cookies
This site uses strictly necessary cookies and browser storage only — enough to make the forms work and to remember that you have seen the cookie notice. No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies are set. If that ever changes, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first, and your consent will be requested before any such cookie is placed.
9. External links to Google Play
Every review on this site links to the official Google Play listing for the game concerned. Those links are plain store links and are not affiliate links. When you follow one, you leave this website and Google's own privacy policy and terms apply to what happens next. We receive no information back from Google about whether you followed a link or installed anything, and we have no relationship with Google LLC or with any game publisher named on this site.
10. Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
Under Information Privacy Principles 6 and 7 you may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you; request deletion where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it; withdraw consent where processing is based on it; and complain to us and then to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. Email [email protected] with enough detail to identify the information concerned. We respond within 20 working days as required by the Act, at no charge for a standard request. If we decline a request we will explain why and how to complain.
11. Children and young people
This website is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and it will be deleted. The games reviewed here carry their own Google Play content ratings, which are shown on their store listings.
12. Privacy breaches
If a notifiable privacy breach occurs — one that has caused or is likely to cause serious harm — we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the affected individuals as soon as practicable, in accordance with Part 6 of the Privacy Act 2020.
13. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. Material changes affecting information already collected are notified by email where we hold a valid address.
14. Questions and complaints
Privacy officer: Liam Smith, New Zealand — [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand).
Reminder. Moss Paradox operates no gambling, betting or play-for-money service and holds no funds for any user. No financial account data is collected anywhere on this site.
